There was one point where we were driving through what looked like a Stephen King novel. Tempted to add in a massive Cloverfield/Godzilla monster up there in the mist.

ANYWAY....

Lately i've been feeling restless. Cheltenham is nice, but its smaaaallll and every so often its healthy to leave it all behind and to get away. My mate Kellie was feeling the same, so naturally we said 'LETS GO TO WALES'.

As you do.

Kellie and I took a Friday off work and we went to a Red Kite sanctuary in Wales somewhere (can't remember where exactly but it was a tiny village) and witnessed about 200 of the birds flocking around a pile of meat

The birds were massive. It was a very strange sight.
Then we decided to head to Aberystwyth only to witness more flocks of strange birds. Im not really sure what they were. Possibly starlings? What ever they were, they did an amazing job of shitting all over Kellie's car.

It was all VERY surreal.

My Dad hosted this massive Charity event in Bournemouth to raise money for the National Star College where Rob works. It's a good cause and all together I think they raised over a grand for disabled young adults.
It was a well needed break away from Cheltenham.

When I got home from work today Rob had framed my crow piece and hung it on the wall! Eeeee!

Other than my uni exhibition I dont think Ive ever framed anything ive done before. Here is my living room :D Yes that is a Darth Vader mask hung up. I went as a slutty Darth Vader for my works summer ball.
It didnt go down very well.

So after a couple of weeks of feeling like a bag of arses, it turns out it was my antibiotics that were making me sick. Ive been back at work now for a couple of weeks but am now once again struggling to draw anything at all.
Working in a call centre (as fun as it can be with the mentalists that I work with) always leaves me feeling exhausted and crushes any amount of creativity I have. Keeping motivated is defiantly a challenge.

My boyfriend Rob also has the same problems with motivation, and since leaving uni over 3 years ago has barley drawn anything at all. However he is so talented, it makes me sick in my mouth.

Look at this stuff.

SO MANY HOURS OF INKING. So after weeks of being uninspired and generally bored and angry with my work I stumbled onto the work of Catlin Hackett ( this talented lady http://society6.com/caitlinhackettart ) Pretty much as soon as I pawed through her gallery I started drawing again. I dug out my gigantic sketch book that I bought last year and never used, and starting drawing. This is just a bit bigger than A3 and took around 11 hours all together.

I'm pleased with the result :) Original is on sale for £350 plus shipping. Email me if interested.

Yesterday at work we were given stress balls and glow sticks. Rhy burst her stress ball, and my glow stick exploded.
We shouldnt be allowed nice things.

Here is a collection of werebeasties that I have been commissioned by various people. Getting paid to draw werewolves is the best thing thing ever.

And here are few things that I have neglected to upload here. This is a gift for a very dear friend of mine for her birthday. Yes its a dragon sitting on an onion. I cant be arsed to explain. MANY MANY hours of inking. I think she liked it :)

This weekend I have not left the house.

Spent the entire two days in my own filth and drawing and painting roses for a client.
This has meant that ive had Kiss by a rose by Seal in my head for the entire weekend.

My contract for the call centre expired in July and they rehired me in September. This gave me the chance to draw all summer and visit friends that I hadnt seen in a while. Also managed to get 7 commissions done for private clients too. Only 7 more to go!

I want to draw more and with more variety. I think ill challenge myself to do just that. and upload it here.

So I went camping in Wales. In true Welsh fashion is rained the entire time.
Until we came home.
Then the sun came out.
What a jerk.We called it a day after the tent fell over and went back to Dan's parents place where I spent most of my time playing with the dog Buster. We went walking in the woods and found this old abandoned school.

So I managed to quit my job working in the call centre. My last day was Friday which means I have a week to work on a couple of commissions before starting work experience in graphic design.
Its good to get back into the swing of drawing again :)

While waiting for feedback from a commission I started on doing some ideas for business cards. Went a bit nuts and ended up with this design.

I got featured in the Cascade magazine at work.

I was lucky enough to stay with illustrators John and Wendy during my stay in New York.
John thought it would be fun to do a simple collaboration. He started with a doodle, I started with a doodle, and we went from there!

Well my New York trip looks like its going to be cancelled due to a VOLCANO. (I know right? WTF??)
Not what I was expecting.

It does however give me time to take on some more commissions.

BPP want me to add a lion to their commission so ive been doing some quick studies.

Also have some warm up and concept sketches for a very exciting logo commission which is in progress.

Afternoon all.
This was my old blog http://thejackproject.blogspot.com/, but I got broken into in October and my laptop was stolen. Long story short, ive lost the passwords to my hotmail account and also my blog account.

ANYWAY ive decided to continue uploading artwork!

At the moment I am working in a call center whilst trying to draw in my spare time.
Call centre work is....challenging....and getting the motivation to draw in the evenings is getting more and more difficult.
